The movie follows the journey of Tojima Asahi, a first-year high school student who deeply yearns for change and transformation in her life. Asahi, portrayed by Nanase Nishino, is physically small and perceived as weak, but she is determined to redefine herself. In a bid to boost her confidence, she decides to join the Naginata Club at her school. This decision is further fueled by her admiration for the club’s strongest member, Miyaji Maharu, played by Mai Shiraishi. Maharu not only inspires Asahi but also bravely intervenes when a pervert attempts to harass her.

Under the guidance of the somewhat inept Sensei Kobayashi, the club operates as a quirky unit despite being deemed the “ATM” or “wallet” of the team. Asahi finds herself among a group of enthusiastic and encouraging members who initially doubt her abilities because of her petite stature. However, their support helps her push through the challenging training regimen.

The narrative takes a significant turn during their first training camp at a temple, where they are put through rigorous training by the experienced shinto priestess Jukei. Asahi and her teammates, though initially overwhelmed, draw motivation from Jukei’s wisdom and the tactical techniques she imparts.

As the plot unfolds, Asahi also navigates the complexities of adolescence, developing feelings for Miyaji Natsuyuki, Maharu’s brother. The introduction of a fierce rivalry with another school team adds further stakes to the story. After a crushing defeat to the rival team led by Ichido, this pivotal moment leads to Maharu’s decision to leave the Naginata Club. However, with Asahi’s relentless support and encouragement, Maharu finds her way back to the team.

Fueled by their bond and determination, the Naginata Club members rally together and prepare for the upcoming national competition, all while facing the trials and tribulations of high school life and friendship along the way. Their journey doesn’t just explore sportsmanship; it emphasizes personal growth, resilience, and the strength derived from camaraderie.
