Aruvi Aditi Balan and her friend Emily are brought in for questioning by Mohammad Ali Baig, a law enforcement officer who suspects Aruvi might be connected to a terrorist organization. The interrogation unfolds as a wide net of family and friends recount Aruvi’s journey, starting from a loving, typical middle‑class upbringing. The story lays out a girl who grows up kind and unassuming, but soon faces a harsh turning point when her family turns against her and casts her out, accusing her of bringing shame upon them. This early rupture sets the tone for a life lived under scrutiny and judgment, where every action is weighed against a moral stereotype.
