What Is Arabesque About?
The premise of Arabesque without spoilers.
The film’s visual structure follows arabesque variations—arcs of light, water spouts, spider webs, burgeoning trees, flowers, foliage, a woman’s smile, outstretched arms and an arm moving a rocking chair. Natural elements (light, mirrors, water, wind) and photographic techniques (multiple exposures) are used to distort or intensify these motifs.
