Octavius Caesar—later Augustus, son of the murdered Julius Caesar—joins Marc Antony and Lepidus to form the triumvirate governing the Roman Empire. Though married to Fulvia, Antony spends his days in Egypt, indulging in decadence and an affair with Queen Cleopatra. While Antony is away, Caesar and Lepidus worry about Pompey’s rising political strength.
