Sivaraman, unable to find a good job, starts working as a security guard in a nearby colony, introducing himself to everyone as Ramsingh. In the same colony lives Geetha with her daughter, while Geetha’s husband works abroad. A police officer named Rajagopal arrives with his daughter, Latha, who turns out to be Sivaraman’s former lover. A flashback reveals that Sivaraman and Latha were classmates who fell in love, but a misunderstanding drove them apart.

Seeing Latha again after so long, Sivaraman feels a surge of emotion, but Latha does not share the rekindled feeling at that moment. Geetha soon uncovers Sivaraman’s true identity and treats him with respect, contrasting with how the other colony members shun him because of his job as a security guard. Rumors spread about Geetha having an illicit relationship with Sivaraman, further straining her standing in the community.

Inside the colony, Anand—a crafty resident—sets his sights on Latha, only to be put in his place by Sivaraman. The atmosphere turns hostile toward Sivaraman, but Geetha comes to his defense. Gradually, Latha begins to understand that Sivaraman’s feelings for her have not faded and decides to try to repair their relationship.

When Geetha’s husband returns from abroad, the whispers about Geetha escalate. Some colony members speak ill of her to Ramesh, who trusts Geetha and is not swayed by the rumors. It is later revealed that Geetha had already told Ramesh about Sivaraman, and Ramesh arranges a job abroad for him, offering a path out of the growing communal tension.

The story resolves on a hopeful note as Sivaraman and Latha come back together, signaling a renewed bond and a sense of vindication for Geetha amid the challenges from the colony.
