Four unemployed youths Venkat, Ravi, Balu, and Venu spend their days teasing women, while their parents scold them for not taking life seriously and for spoiling their family name.

A girl moves in next door—Anjali—and, after the four friends try to tease her, she responds with equal wit, and the foursome soon becomes unlikely friends. Anjali quickly sees that each of them has a distinct talent: Venkat writes poignant poetry, Ravi is a skilled bike racer, Balu cooks with flair, and Venu excels at mimicry. She encourages them to nurture these gifts and aim higher, turning their casual camaraderie into real ambition.

On her birthday, each of the friends presents a gift to her, having borrowed or stolen something from their homes to symbolize their affection. She accepts all four proposals and makes a bold promise: she will marry any of them only if they return after achieving real success in their chosen fields. With renewed purpose, they pour energy into their crafts and begin to build meaningful careers.

When they finally come back, hopeful to fulfill their vows, they discover that Anjali is about to marry someone else—the army man who has captured her heart. They rally to stop the wedding, accusing her of betrayal, while the reality behind their impulsive actions weighs on everyone involved.

Anjali’s father, Prakash Raj, reveals a painful flashback about losing his own son because he failed to guide him properly. This moment helps the friends understand the deeper motive behind Anjali’s drive: she does not want anyone to meet the same fate as her brother, so she channels their energy toward excellence in their careers, all in the name of love. The film also threads in the family dynamics that shape the characters: Yallamanda, Balu’s father, a chef, and Hanumayya, Venu’s father, a washerman, with Narra Venkateswara Rao depicted as Ravi’s father, a bike mechanic.
