Siddharth Shivakumar, often called Siddhu, is a wealthy businessman from Mysore, who plays a pivotal role in his family’s thriving textile enterprise, Annapoorna Textiles. His mother, Annapoorna, is the guiding force behind the business’s success following her husband’s early demise. Siddhu’s uncle, Puttappa, is portrayed as a cunning and self-interested figure, eager to seize Siddhu’s properties for his own benefit. After completing his education abroad, Siddhu returns home to manage the business affairs that his mother diligently built. Just as he takes charge, tragedy strikes when Annapoorna suffers an accident at the factory, leaving her in a coma. Despite all efforts by Siddhu, her condition does not improve.

In a twist of fate, Siddhu encounters a wise sage on a mountain, who reveals a mystical solution to save his mother. The sage tells him that he must live as a beggar for 48 days, as a form of penance, with two critical conditions: he must never reveal his true identity during this period, nor tell anyone about his mission. Desperate and determined, Siddhu agrees, and with the help of his friend Rajesh, he leaves his life of comfort behind and begins his journey into homelessness.

Siddhu relocates to Bangalore and joins the ranks of beggars, living humble moments at a temple. During this difficult period, he meets Bindhu, a kind-hearted woman whose charitable deeds earn his admiration. Their connection deepens, especially after Siddhu recalls that he and his mother had once considered seeking her as a potential bride through a matrimonial website. Meanwhile, Bindu’s perception of Siddhu begins to change as she witnesses his kindness and genuine nature, unaware of his true identity as a wealthy businessman.

Over time, Puttappa becomes suspicious of Siddhu’s absence and attempts to take control of Siddhu’s business assets. At the same time, Bindu’s mother discovers Siddhu’s true background after noticing his photo on her laptop, which she had shared with him earlier. The revelation shocks Bindu, but her affection for Siddhu remains strong. She overhears Siddhu’s conversation with Rajesh, learning that his act of living as a beggar is solely to save his mother, which makes her respect him even more.

However, Siddhu’s mission is threatened when a corrupt group of doctors running a mental health center uses patients for illegal experiments. Siddhu uncovers their sinister activities with the help of a beggar pretending to be a mentally challenged girl. When the doctors realize Siddhu knows their secret, they hire a contract killer, Arun Kale, to eliminate him. Both Siddhu and Bindu are targeted in the ensuing chaos—Arun and his goons attack them, resulting in Bindu being accidentally stabbed and hospitalized.

Despite the danger, Siddhu’s determination does not waver. With support from his friends, he manages to secure some funds to cover Bindu’s medical expenses. Meanwhile, the corrupt doctors and Puttappa are arrested by the police. After completing his 48 days as a beggar, Siddhu returns home with Rajesh and visits his mother, Annapoorna. Though her health remains critical, Siddhu’s heartfelt prayers seem to awaken her, leading to her eventual recovery six months later.

The story concludes with Siddhu and Bindu tying the knot, symbolizing their enduring love and hope. A poignant scene reveals an elderly beggar pleading for money outside a temple, which echoes the life Siddhu chose to live—marked by sacrifice and humility. Annapoorna’s parting words to Siddhu, urging him to respect beggars and their hardships, subtly hint that she remains unaware of his sacrifice to save her life, underscoring the profound themes of love, sacrifice, and humility woven throughout this emotional journey.
