A Christmas-obsessed neighborhood is shaken when five-year-old Jamie Garrett vanishes from her home. Rumors swirl—from Krampus legends to kidnapping theories—and the adults start treating the Garrett house as the stuff of a spooky holiday legend. The house goes dark as Mrs. Garrett Melynda Kiring retreats into a depressive isolation, and the neighborhood’s kids trade bedtime fears about their missing friend, turning the tragedy into a harmless, if eerie, bedtime story they tell each other.

Fifteen years later, Rachel Kimmel, now a 22-year-old student, comes home for Christmas. The offbeat and slightly creepy Mrs. Garrett invites her to stay as she emerges from exile, determined to make this Christmas a memorable one, which brings memories of the vanished girl racing back for Rachel.

Meanwhile, a faceless Santa killer Lito Velasco stalks the winter streets, terrorizing the neighborhood—slaughtering women and castrating men. Rachel and her two best friends soon find themselves trapped in a grisly nightmare, with the killer’s obsession taking aim at them as well as Mrs. Garrett and her festively decorated home.

After a sequence of terrifying encounters that leaves more bodies behind, Rachel begins to uncover the madness behind the Santa mask and the deeper truths behind the neighborhood’s past. The killer’s shocking revelation forces Rachel to confront a disturbing family tie, revealing her own connection to the Garrett legacy.
