After magazine publisher Colonel Ryder dies, his nephew Tony inherits the paper and plans to grow it. While seeking a bank loan, a detective calls about Ryder’s death—found smiling in a hotel room with a young woman fleeing in only a towel. Fearing scandal could hurt the magazine’s wholesome image and the loan, Tony hires the detective to find her.
