Long ago, a colorfully cloaked race of extraterrestrials known as the Klepts grew greedy, draining their home world of color and resources as they wandered from galaxy to galaxy, stealing whatever they could find. Their leader, Z Barbara Goodson, hatches a bold plan to seize all the Earth has to offer by building a device called the Gyrotron that would strip away gravity at the North Magnetic Pole, sending objects into orbit so the Klepts’ ships can swoop in and claim them. To carry out this mission, Z sends X Dee Bradley Baker, a small Klept, accompanied by a helper robot named SAMTU, into our world.

X and SAMTU touch down on Earth just before Christmas Eve, landing in Christmas Town, a place where Santa Keythe Farley and his diligent elves keep the holiday spirit alive. That night, Santa unveils a sleigh that blends tradition with cutting‑edge technology, designed to help him deliver gifts to children around the globe with dazzling speed. But the invention falters, and Santa enlists Obie [Jon Favreau], the lead elf mechanic, to patch things up. Obie’s dedication to his work has kept him away from his daughter Holly Kaliayh Rhambo and her mother Noelle Michelle Deco, a situation that weighs on Holly as she watches her father struggle to balance duty and family.

Inside an ice cave, X directs SAMTU to assemble the Gyrotron, a device with the power to change Earth’s gravity. Driven by a deep-seated impulse to steal, X ventures into Christmas Town and crosses paths with Obie, first appearing as an inanimate doll after X feigns stillness. Obie eventually brings X home and presents him to Holly as a gift. Holly’s gentle care and the joy of the season awaken something unexpectedly warm in X, and the tiny spark of humanity he experiences helps restore his blue color.

Moved by the warmth he witnesses, X decides not to follow through with Z’s plan. He even reprograms SAMTU to repair Santa’s sleigh, aiming to restore the magic of Christmas. But Z orders the other Klepts to invade Christmas Town, and the Gyrotron is activated. SAMTU fights back and destroys the machine, sacrificing itself in the process. The Klepts manage to overwhelm the town, casting a cloud of gloom over the holiday, and Z promotes X to Vice Supreme Leader, believing he has earned Earth’s trust to lead them to “the stuff.”

In a surprising twist of goodwill, X turns the tide in a different way: he hands the puppy that Holly gifted him to Z, a gesture that rekindles her pink color and signals a shift in his loyalties. The effort and generosity of the townspeople begin to restore color (and spirit) to the Klepts, who slowly return to their bright, original selves as gifts are exchanged around the town.

As dawn breaks on Christmas morning, Santa laments that time is running short to deliver gifts to every child on the planet. Yet X, inspired by the Earth’s kindness, leads a flotilla of Klepts in spaceships that circle the globe, delivering presents as Santa wished and helping Christmas Town save its holiday miracle through shared joy and renewed color.
