A band of ninja warriors, led by Yamata Masanori Mimoto and his comrades Jinnai Shuji Kashiwabara and Nezumi Donpei Tsuchihira, is dispatched to investigate the sudden crash of a mysterious object in the sky. As they reach the wreckage, they uncover the brutal aftermath others ninjas have suffered: bodies torn apart in a scene that mixes awe with dread. Not long after, they cross paths with another, larger group of ninjas spearheaded by Rin Mika Hijii, a skilled kunoichi whose presence signals a broader conspiracy and a deeper danger. The encounter with the young survivor of a massacred village—and the dead silence that follows his plea for help—pulls them into a confrontation the team hadn’t anticipated. Before any clear explanation can be offered, the attackers reveal themselves to be aliens from another planet, and the clash that follows is brutal and disorienting. In the opening battles, Yamata, Rin, and Jinnai manage to kill three of the extraterrestrials, but one deadly foe escapes, dragging Jinnai away in the scramble.
Back on their return to the safety of familiar ground, Nezumi races toward his village, hoping to shield others from the threat. What awaits him is a brutal massacre at the hands of the same otherworldly invaders. He barely escapes with his life, but the alien force closes in, cornering him near his temple. In a swift, merciless moment, the alien decapitates him, and his severed head lands on a temple post, a stark, haunting image that mirrors the larger battle and foreshadows the price of their fight.
The nightmare deepens when Jinnai awakens in an abandoned temple, suspended upside down among the corpses of fallen ninjas. He discovers an organism lodged inside his throat, and before he can react, the parasite begins to seize control of his body. The boy who led them to the temple is able to guide Yamata and Rin there, but they are soon surrounded by the possessed Jinnai and the reanimated ninjas, all manipulated by slim organisms released from the aliens’ nostrils. The scene grows surreal as the possessed beings utter English expletives, a chilling reminder that the invaders’ influence reaches beyond language or culture. Yamata acts quickly, silencing one of the thralls to buy time and prevent further chaos. The team notices a disturbing clue—eyes glimmering in the mouths of the dead ninjas—hinting at the way these creatures take root and spread.
Rin takes decisive action, targeting the dead ninjas’ throats to eject the parasites, while Yamata confronts the source directly. In a harrowing sequence, he drives his hand through Jinnai’s mouth to extract the symbiote that has taken control of him. The extraction is long and strenuous, but Yamata’s resolve does not waver, and at last the threat is neutralized, and Jinnai is freed from alien influence. With the threat momentarily contained, Yamata turns back to the last alien in a cavern. The creature fights with surprising resilience, even sprouting wings as it tries to escape. The battle that ensues is a test of skill, will, and teamwork. Yamata manages to seize the creature’s leg, drags it into a perilous chase, and places a timing device—a bomb—on the foe before leaping free. The blast is decisive, sending the alien hurtling outward and to its demise, while Yamata lands safely and reuniting with his comrades.
The victory, however, comes at a cost, and the team’s sense of relief is tempered by the ongoing threat of infection. They return home, carrying the weight of what they have learned and the quiet fear that the fight is far from over. The boy who sparked this journey remains a lingering mystery, as one of the alien organisms persists in his bag, a small but tangible reminder that the threat may linger in unseen places. In the end, what began as a mission to investigate a mysterious crash deepens into a struggle for survival against forces that defy explanation, testing loyalty, courage, and the limits of what a small group of ninjas can endure when confronted by an entire world—and beyond.
