Age of Heroes 2011

During the Second World War, Corporal Bob Rains is released from a war prison after being accused of cowardice and striking an officer, and is drafted into the newly formed 30 Commando unit. Under the stern guidance of Major Jack Jones, the men endure grueling training that tests their endurance, discipline, and camaraderie, forging a tight-knit group ready for a mission few would dare attempt. Their objective is highly classified: parachute behind enemy lines into Nazi-occupied Norway to seize cutting-edge German radar technology that could tilt the balance of the war.

The team is joined by Steinar Mortensen, a Norwegian-born officer with deep terrain knowledge, and Jensen, a skilled spy whose presence adds an edge of danger and hope to the operation. As the commandos push through brutal weather and relentless gunfire, their skills and resolve are pushed to the limit while they plot a route that could keep them one step ahead of the German pursuers. The mission grows even more perilous when their extraction is delayed, forcing a perilous escape toward the neutral border of Sweden.

A hard-won resupply at a foreboding farm reveals a grim price paid by those who once aided them: the local inhabitants had been shot by German units. The tension spikes when the Germans close in and Brightling is captured alive, used as leverage to coerce surrender. The commandos refuse to yield, determined to protect their comrades and complete the objective no matter the cost.

As pursuit tightens, Jensen and the radar specialist Roger Rollright are ordered to sprint for the Swedish border, while the rest of the team provides cover. Major Jones recognizes that the odds are overwhelming and orders Rains and Steinar to break for the border, leaving others to hold the line. The clash grows fiercer; Steinar is shot and killed, deepening the crisis as Rains faces three approaching Germans with dwindling ammunition. In a decisive move, Jensen and Rollright strike, neutralizing the immediate threat and enabling a harrowing overland withdrawal to Sweden. The final image lingers on the two surviving team members and Jensen standing on a snow-blanketed hill, gazing down toward the valley that leads to safety, a quiet reminder of the mission’s gravity and the sacrifices it demanded.
