In a fictitious, poverty-stricken village called Gowlipady, power is ruthlessly wielded by the Zamindaress Bhandaravathi. Kashi is the village’s only literate resident and makes a living selling lottery tickets. When one ticket he sold wins a staggering ₹5 crore, greed pushes him to chase the prize, even though he cannot recall exactly who bought that particular slip. To recover the prize, he hosts an exclusive treat for all ticket buyers, demanding they surrender their slips at the door. By the end of the gathering, all but one ticket have been collected. That last slip was sold to Antony, and Kashi heads to Antony’s home to find him dead.

The scene spirals quickly: Kashi tries to stage the death as a suicide, but Nallavan arrives and uncovers the ruse. Desperate to keep the money, Kashi persuades Nallavan to split the winnings after dumping Antony’s body in a nearby lake. Meanwhile, Kallu overhears their plan, and the trio’s fragile alliance begins to bend under pressure. Kashi lays out everything and asks what it would take to stay quiet; Thamara becomes a focal point in the tangle, as Kallu admits he isn’t after money but wants to marry her. After a tense exchange, they decide to stick together, torn between loyalty, love, and the lure of the prize.

As the men drive toward the lake, a village crowd in search of Nallavan and Kashi converges, and the group of conspirators fabricates a story to slip past them. A mishap on the way—an accident that sends the vehicle veering into a forest—leads to a moment where the dead body appears to be found on the top of a tree, only to vanish again before it’s recovered. The next day, Kashi checks with the lottery office and learns Antony had already made contact. The conspirators abandon the money scheme for a quicker escape, but word travels that Antony is still perched on that tree, dead, and cannot be retrieved.

Back at Antony’s house, Antony’s sister Mary chechi confronts the truth, while Thamara reveals to a friend that she plans to elope with Kallu. Kallu’s father weighs in with stern silence, and the family’s secrecy grows heavier as a crowd gathers around the house. The zamindaress herself arrives, and the pressure to stage a funeral without public knowledge mounts. A misdirected route to Antony’s home is fed to the inspector by Kashi, and the group narrowly fools him by keeping Antony’s “whereabouts” ambiguous. The family goes through the motions of a funeral while the truth gnaws at them from the inside.

In the midst of the chaos, the town’s talkative nature intensifies. The news reporter captures the escalating tension, lending a sharp, outsider’s eye to the village’s moral muddle. As the dust begins to settle, Mayllappa’s own feelings—embodied by Mayllappa—clash with Kallu’s impending marriage, throwing the group into a deeper, more tangled spiral. The plan that started as a simple attempt to lie low spirals into a crazy, unpredictable outcome that tests trust, love, and the lengths people will go to protect their own.
