A Date for Mad Mary 2016

Mary McArdle Seána Kerslake is a young woman with a history of violent, antisocial behavior who is released from prison after an incident at a club. She returns to Drogheda to live with her mother and grandmother and gradually tries to reconnect with old friends. She learns that her best friend since childhood, Charlene Charleigh Bailey, is about to marry, and Mary spends most of her time drafting a maid of honour speech to deliver at the wedding. As the preparations unfold, a growing distance forms between Mary and Charlene, with Charlene becoming increasingly busy and distant, leaving Mary to navigate the changing dynamic on her own.

In a bid to secure a “plus one” for Charlene’s wedding, Mary signs up for a speed-dating service to meet men, hoping one of them can help her make a strong impression on Charlene and her circle.
