In a tense, edge-of-the-seat investigation, Vijay Prakash—an ace ACP—pursues the truth behind a man named Karthik, a figure whose identity seems to fracture under conflicting statements. Three young women insist that Karthik is their husband, someone who vanished days or perhaps months earlier, and their testimonies weave a bewildering web around his supposed relationships. An elderly man from an asylum claims he knew Karthik by another name, Krishnamurthy, a man who, he says, died thirty years ago. The very next day, that elderly man is found murdered, turning the case into a chilling riddle that refuses simple answers.

Among the testimonies emerges Priya, who steps forward with the claim that Karthik is indeed her husband, missing since the previous day. The twist thickens when the police, having already arrested Karthik two days earlier on suspicions connected to the old man’s murder, are stunned to hear Priya’s assertion. As the investigation unfolds, Karthik himself struggles to recognize the other three women who insist they share his past, his promises, and his present.

A dramatic turn occurs when one of the women is brought into the hospital where Karthik is being held. Upon sight of Karthik, a moment of recognition lights their faces, but it detonates into tragedy as she draws a gun and fires. The truth behind the shot emerges: she loves him and has married him; a prior misunderstanding left her thinking he had discarded her. Blinded by disbelief at the rumours of a life he led with others, she believes Karthik cannot be trusted and decides he must die.

The story then loops back to the investigation’s core as Karthik escapes from the hospital with the help of a journalist, determined to uncover the real motive behind the accusations. What unfolds is a shocking revelation: the elaborate “drama” staged by the four women was orchestrated at the behest of Saraswati, a cunning elder whose vendetta runs deep. Saraswati is revealed as the former wife of Karthik’s father, Krishnamurthy, and as the true mastermind behind the ruse.

In a layered flashback, Saraswati’s past is laid bare. She murdered her own father and manipulated events to marry Krishnamurthy, only to expose his vulnerability once he realized her psychotic streak. Krishnamurthy fled and plunged into a river during their tumultuous nuptial night. Saraswati was confined to an asylum, from which she was released years later. When she finally encounters Krishnamurthy again, now living a peaceful life with Bhanu and two children, she destroys that happiness by killing them all—save for one son, who would later become Karthik.

Back in the present, Saraswati’s fixation on vengeance persists. She continues to project a vision of Karthik as Krishnamurthy, aiming to ruin him for rejecting her. Her plan escalates when she abducts Priya, threatening Karthik with a forced, self-destructive choice. ACP Vijay Prakash intervenes and is wounded in the struggle; the assailant, wounded in turn by the police, shoots herself, cutting off Priya’s location from the authorities. With Saraswati momentarily subdued, the final chase leads to Priya’s hideout in a basement, where she finally offers an apology for the earlier misunderstandings and, in a quiet moment of reconciliation, Priya and Karthik find each other again.

The case closes on a note that blends relief with reflection: the misreadings, the manipulations, and the wounds of the past are confronted, and while the truth proves tangled, the bond between Karthik and Priya is restored. The narrative threads—identity, memory, and revenge—are resolved through a careful balance of restraint and revelation, leaving viewers with a story that lingers in the mind well after the final scene.
