On a sweltering Friday in April 2005 in Asunción, Victor, a 17-year-old pushcart porter played by Celso Franco, finds himself caught in a daydream at a bustling DVD booth in the heart of a market. This momentary distraction leads to a lost customer, ushering in the stark reality of market competition and the need to secure his job. Determined to earn more that day, Victor receives an unexpected proposal: to transport seven mysterious boxes in exchange for half of a torn $100 bill, with the promise of receiving the other half upon completion.
Equipped with a borrowed cell phone, which serves as a tracking device from his contractor, Victor embarks on the arduous trek. He is joined by a spirited young woman named Liz, portrayed by Lali Gonzalez. As they navigate the eight bustling blocks of the market, their mission quickly takes a turn for the worse when one of the boxes gets stolen, and Victor loses the cell phone—heightened by the presence of police patrolling the area for unknown reasons.
As night descends, Victor becomes painfully aware that he and Liz, along with their relentless pursuers, have unwittingly tangled themselves in a crime that remains shrouded in mystery. They know neither the victim nor the perpetrator but face the ominous weight of their involvement. The tension escalates as Victor grapples with the realization that he is now caught in a precarious situation far beyond his initial intentions.
