In 2030, rising water levels driven by global climate change reshape life in Southern Vietnam, where as much as half of the farmland has been swallowed by the sea. Communities adapt by living on houseboats and subsisting mainly on fishing, while supplies thin and prices rise. Across the coastline, large multinational conglomerates vie to deploy floating farms equipped with desalination and solar-powered facilities, aiming to grow vegetables that can meet demand but at a steep cost to the environment and to public health if shortcuts are taken.
