Samuel Levinson, born on January 8, 1985, is an American filmmaker and actor known notably as the son of Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson. He embarked on a filmmaking journey with his initial writing credit in the action-comedy film 'Operation: Endgame' in 2010. The following year, he marked his directorial debut with 'Another Happy Day' (2011) premiered at Sundance Film Festival. He also received a writing credit on his father's HBO television film 'The Wizard of Lies' (2017). His directorial prowess continued to amaze audiences in feature films Assassination Nation (2018) and Malcolm & Marie (2021). In 2019, he created the popular HBO teen drama series Euphoria, adapted from an Israeli series, receiving positive reviews from critics. Subsequently, in 2023, Levinson created 'The Idol' for HBO, which sustained controversy and negative reviews. **In his earlier undertakings, Levinson was also an actor in his father, director Barry Levinson's 1992 fantasy-comedy 'Toys', and other films such as Bandits (2001) and 'What Just Happened' (2008). In 2011, he premiered his directorial debut, 'Another Happy Day', at the Sundance Film Festival.
