The duo directed Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor in their screenplay I Love You Phillip Morris, gaining critical acclaim for their work. Following his early career, Requa and Ficarra further demonstrated their skills by writing various episodes of The Angry Beavers, a Nickelodeon animated series from 1997 until 2001. The team continued to rise in Hollywood, directing Focus starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, an interesting biographical war comedy film featuring Tina Fey.
