His directorial debut, Irreconcilable Differences, received multiple awards and nominations. He then directed the box office hit Father of the Bride and it's sequel. Shyer continued his success through the late 90s and early 2000s with The Parent Trap and Alfie, respectively. Latest in Charles' endeavor was announced in 2012 where he wrote and directed the online fashion film Ieri Oggi Domani and he is currently working on a Netflix project - The Noel Diary.
