Helen Catherine Hardwicke, known professionally as Catherine Hardwicke, is an American film director, production designer, and screenwriter. Her repertoire spans a wide range of genres, from teen dramas to biblical epics, reflecting her unique storytelling beat. She is most acclaimed for her directorial work in 'Thirteen' (2003), which she co-wrote with Nikki Reed, 'Lords of Dogtown' (2005), 'The Nativity Story' (2006), 'Twilight' (2008), 'Red Riding Hood' (2011), and 'Miss You Already' (2015). She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in architecture before attending UCLA film school, which aided her work as a production designer.
