Andrew Ayers Stanton, born on December 3, 1965, is a renowned American filmmaker and voice actor associated with Pixar Animation Studios, which he joined in 1990. He gained prominence as the co-writer and co-director for Pixar's A Bug's Life and the director for Finding Nemo, its sequel Finding Dory, WALL-E, and John Carter. Stanton has also had a significant role in co-writing and directing the entire Toy Story franchise and Monsters, Inc. The director is a double Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature with Finding Nemo and WALL-E, and has several Academy Awards nominations under his belt for Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay. In recent years, Stanton has switched gears, directing various highly-acclaimed television series such as 3 Body Problem, Better Call Saul, Legion, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Stranger Things.

In his personal life, Andrew Stanton was born and brought up in Rockport, Massachusetts, the son of a defense radar specialist Ron Stanton, and mother, Gloria Stanton, an aspiring actress, later a homemaker. The animation pioneer nurtured a passion for performing arts in high school, portraying Barnaby Tucker in a production of Hello, Dolly! and filming sketch comedies on Super 8 film. These passion projects ignited the inspiration for concepts like WALL-E. After a brief stint at the University of Hartford, Stanton transferred to California Institute of the Arts' character animation program and received his BFA in 1987. In 1989, Stanton married his high school sweetheart, Julie, and the couple raised two children in Los Angeles. Stanton revealed his diagnosis with ADHD in 2012. He remains an ardent fan of Arsenal F.C. His remarkable career, earning international recognition and accolades, began in the late 1980s and continues to thrive presently.
