John Wick Trilogy Finds New Streaming Home on HBO Max
The first three films in the acclaimed John Wick action franchise are now available to stream on HBO Max. While the newer installments remain exclusive to Starz, this move centralizes access for fans wanting to revisit the series' beginnings.

A major streaming shift is making it easier for audiences to revisit the John Wick universe. The first three films in the Keanu Reeves-led franchise—John Wick (2014), John Wick: Chapter 2, and John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum—have landed on HBO Max. However, completing the saga requires a separate subscription, as the recent entries, John Wick: Chapter 4 and the spin-off Ballerina, are currently streaming exclusively on Starz.
The separation of streaming rights means fans must use two platforms to watch all the mainline films. This is a common occurrence in the industry as licensing deals expire and are renewed with different services.
The John Wick series is renowned for its high-octane action sequences and the dedication of its star, Keanu Reeves, and director Chad Stahelski. The franchise has seen consistent critical and commercial success.
Not every extension of the franchise has met with the same acclaim. The Peacock original series The Continental received a more mixed response, with a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2025 film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, also underperformed relative to the main series, earning $137 million worldwide and a 75% critical score.
