Corey Feldman is publicly disputing the portrayal of his comments about fellow actor Corey Haim in the documentary Corey Feldman vs The World. Through his legal representatives, Feldman states he never claimed Haim physically molested him and is investigating how the footage was obtained for the film. The documentary’s producers have responded, asserting Feldman’s involvement and the lawful sourcing of all content.
According to a report from People Magazine, Feldman’s legal team released a detailed statement clarifying his position. They emphasized that Feldman had no involvement in the documentary’s production and that the footage was acquired through “dishonest means.” The statement characterizes articles suggesting Feldman said Haim “molested” him as a “sensationalized mischaracterization.”
Feldman’s explanation is that during the filming of The Lost Boys, Haim sought to “mess around” with him. While Feldman did not reciprocate these advances and found the experience disturbing as a young actor, his use of the word “molested” was in reference to the unwelcome sexual advances, not a claim of physical assault. The legal team stated Feldman “plans to pursue all legal options” following an investigation.
Representatives for the documentary filmmakers offered a contrasting account. Their statement claims Feldman was “consistently involved throughout production” and was “repeatedly invited filming to take place.” They maintain that “all footage used in this film was obtained lawfully” and expressed readiness to defend their process “in any court or other forum.”
Judy Haim, the mother of the late Corey Haim, responded strongly to the allegations featured in the documentary. She told People Magazine she “just couldn’t believe it” and accused Feldman of “hiding behind my kid to stay relevant” and “taking advantage of someone who cannot respond.”
The controversy stems from footage in the documentary where Feldman discusses his early career with Corey Haim. The Lost Boys was the first of several films that made Feldman and Haim, known collectively as “The Two Coreys,” famous. Their subsequent collaborations included License to Drive, Dream a Little Dream, and Blown Away.
