Tom Green, born Michael Thomas Green on July 30, 1971, is a Canadian and American comedian, actor, filmmaker, rapper, and podcaster. With a career starting at stand-up comedy and music as a young adult, Green created and hosted The Tom Green Show. The show aired on Canadian television and later on MTV from 1994 to 2000, influencing later series such as Jackass and The Eric Andre Show. Known for his shock comedy, absurd pranks and manic persona, Green made appearances in Hollywood films like Road Trip (2000), Charlie's Angels (2000), Stealing Harvard (2002), and Shred (2008). He directed, co-wrote and starred in Freddy Got Fingered (2001). He was married to actress Drew Barrymore for a brief period (2001–2002). Green continued his television career by hosting shows like The New Tom Green Show and an internet talk show, Tom Green's House Tonight. He also returned to performing stand-up comedy in 2010. He hosted Tom Green Live on American cable network AXS TV from October 2013 to November 2014. Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada and later moved to Gloucester (now Ottawa) and studied television broadcasting at Algonquin College.
