What's After the Movie
Tom Keir Blyth is an English actor whose career has been marked by a blend of classical training and gritty screen performances. Born on 2 February 1995 in Birmingham, England, he spent his early years moving between Derbyshire, North Yorkshire and Nottingham, coping with his parents' divorce at age eleven and the loss of his father, television writer Gavin Blyth, when he was fifteen. His early fascination with drama was nurtured at the Central Junior Television Workshop and later at the National Youth Theatre, where he appeared in productions such as Twelfth Night, Hay Fever and A Clockwork Orange. After declining multiple drama school offers, he earned a scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, studying there from 2016 to 2020 and performing in Antony and Cleopatra among other classics. His on‑screen debut came in 2010 with small roles in Robin Hood and Pelican Blood, but the breakthrough arrived in 2018 when he starred as Sid Sadowskyj in the autobiographical film Scott and Sid. This lead role showcased his ability to convey youthful vulnerability and earned him further attention, leading to his casting as Glen Byam Shaw in Terence Davies' Benediction (2021) and as the titular outlaw William Bonney in the MGM+ series Billy the Kid (2022‑present), where he mastered horseback riding, gun handling and an Irish‑American accent. In 2023 he portrayed a young Coriolanus Snow opposite Rachel Zegler in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, cementing his presence in high‑profile franchises. Upcoming projects include adaptations of Discussion Materials, A Farewell to Arms, the independent film Plainclothes, the Netflix romance People We Meet on Vacation, and Claire Denis' The Fence, confirming Blyth's continued rise as a versatile talent in contemporary cinema.
