What's After the Movie
Stephen Brian Park, widely known as Steve Park, was born on August 23, 1967 as the youngest of four sons. An East Northport, New York, USA native and a prominent figure in the American professional stock car racing scene, Park is celebrated for his achievements within the NASCAR World Series. In his career, he won races in NASCAR's two top Northeast touring series (Modified and K&N East) and all three national divisions (Truck, Busch, Cup Series). Park began his racing journey not in entry-level classes as is typical, but rather in NASCAR Modifieds on Long Island under the tutelage of longtime National Modified Championship contender Bob Park. His talent shone as he progressed to the Featherlite Modified Series, where he successfully contested for several races and the championship itself before moving on to the Busch Series. Here, he celebrated two major wins in NASCAR's highest division. Park's career was equally marked by resilience, as demonstrated in his return from severe injuries suffered in a crash during an event in Atlanta. Afterwards, he strove to regain his position in NASCAR's highest echelons, establishing his legacy in the sport. Despite the retrospective decline in support and financing, Park secured a win in the Craftsman Truck Series American Racing Wheels 200, joining the ranks of drivers to win a race in all three of NASCAR's top racing series. In the latter part of his career, he continued to demonstrate his prowess in the NASCAR Camping World East Series and various truck series races.
