Stephanie Ann Hsu is a well-acclaimed American actress, recognized for her phenomenal portrayal of Joy Wang and Jobu Tupaki in Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards. Hsu was born in Torrance, California and moved to Brooklyn to study theatre at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She honed her skills in experimental theatre before she made it to Broadway that kick-started with her roles of Christine Canigula in Be More Chill (2015–2019) and Karen the Computer in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical (2016–2017). She anchored the character of Christine Canigula in Be More Chill, earning Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Award nominations. Hsu joined the recurring cast of Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in its third season as Mei Lin; this landed her and the rest of the cast the 2020 SAG Award. By 2022, Hsu’s career took a major turn when she delivered a breathtaking performance in A24’s comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once, leading to an Academy Award nomination.
