Seohyun, born Seo Ju-hyun on June 28, 1991 in Doksan‑dong, Geumcheon District, Seoul, South Korea, is a multifaceted South Korean entertainer renowned for her work as a singer, actress, and songwriter. She rose to fame in August 2007 as the youngest member of the idol group Girls' Generation, which quickly became one of the best‑selling and most globally recognized K‑pop acts, especially after the 2009 hit “Gee.” Beyond group activities, Seohyun contributed to sub‑unit Girls' Generation‑TTS, releasing successful EPs such as Twinkle and Holler, and began writing lyrics for tracks like “Only U.” Her acting debut came in 2013 with the drama Passionate Love, and she subsequently built a diverse portfolio that includes historical series Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, the thriller Bad Thief, Good Thief, and the fantasy romance Jinxed at First, earning multiple newcomer awards.
