Samantha "Sammi" Davis (born 21 June 1964) is an English actress whose career blossomed in the mid‑1980s and continues to this day, marked by a blend of daring film roles and notable television work. Mona Lisa (1986) gave her early acclaim when she portrayed a teenage prostitute with a raw intensity that impressed critics, and she followed that success with a memorable turn in Ken Russell’s The Rainbow (1989), a period drama that highlighted her ability to convey both vulnerability and strength. Her versatility became evident in the late‑1980s with supporting performances in Mike Hodges’ A Prayer for the Dying and John Boorman’s Hope and Glory (both 1987), where she contributed nuanced depth to ensemble casts. In 1988 she returned to Russell for The Lair of the White Worm, playing Mary Trent, the love interest of Peter Capaldi’s character, a role that showcased her talent for balancing gothic atmosphere with grounded emotion.
