He is the son of significant actor and film director Mohammad Bakri, and the brother of actors Ziad, Adam Bakri, and Mahmood Bakri.

Bakri made his theatrical debut in the play 'Death and the Maiden,' directed by Juliano Mer-Khamis. His first film appearance dates back to 2007 when he starred in two films: 'The Band's Visit' and 'Salt of this Sea' by Annemarie Jacir. These two films marked significant progress in Bakri's career, with 'Salt of this Sea' being the official submission for the Academy Awards from Palestine, and 'The Band's Visit' fetching him numerous prizes and awards. In the subsequent years, Bakri portrayed significant roles in various international films like 'The Time That Remains', 'The Source', and starred in Sharif Waked's work 'To be continued'.
