Rune Temte

Rune Temte was born on 29 September 1965 in the small industrial town of Solbergelva, located on the outskirts of Oslo in Norway. From a very young age he displayed a passion for sport, joining a local football club at seven and earning his first professional contract with Strømsgodset at the age of eighteen. Over five seasons he became a fixture in the midfield, celebrated as the club's player of the year in 1988, and also represented Norway at the under‑19 level in the niche winter sport of bandy, helping the team secure a bronze medal at the 1984 World Championship in Vänersborg. After a promising athletic career, Temte made the bold decision to retire from professional sport in order to pursue his long‑standing love of performance, simultaneously enrolling in economics studies and beginning formal acting training at the Drama Studio London in 1993‑1994. Even while honing his craft, he continued to play football for Tooting and Mitcham United F.C., underscoring his remarkable ability to balance dual pursuits. Transitioning to the screen, Temte quickly established himself as a versatile actor, appearing in Norwegian television series before breaking into international productions such as the historical drama The Last Kingdom and the 2019 Marvel blockbuster Captain Marvel, where he embodied the formidable Bron‑Char. In 1991 he founded Temte Productions, a company that has since produced more than twenty theatre productions, a feature film, and several short films, reflecting his commitment to nurturing Scandinavian storytelling. A fluent speaker of English, Swedish and Norwegian, he often leverages his linguistic skills on set and in dubbing work. Temte is married to fashion designer Thea Glimsdal Temte, and the couple share a son. An avid supporter of Leeds United, he publicly celebrated the club’s promotion to the Premier League in July 2020, demonstrating his enduring connection to sport and community.
