Rosine Luguet was born on 19 May 1921 in Paris, France, into a theatrical family; her father was the renowned actor André Luguet, which afforded her early exposure to the stage and cinema. Growing up in the cultural milieu of inter‑war Paris, she attended drama schools and quickly attracted the attention of directors who valued her natural poise and expressive eyes. Luguet made her professional debut in 1939, at the age of eighteen, appearing in several stage productions that showcased her versatility in both comedy and drama.
