What's After the Movie
Piotr Rogucki (born 5 May 1978 in Łódź, Poland) is a prominent Polish musician, vocalist, guitarist, and actor whose influence has shaped the contemporary Polish rock scene. After completing his studies at the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts, Rogucki quickly immersed himself in the vibrant underground music circuit, performing at artistic previews and festivals where he earned numerous early awards for both vocal performance and stage presence. His academic background in drama provided a foundation for his charismatic front‑man persona, allowing him to blend theatrical flair with raw rock energy. In 1998 he co‑founded the band Coma, which would become one of Poland’s most acclaimed rock groups, and he has remained its unmistakable leader and primary lyricist throughout its evolution. Over the next two decades Rogucki helped Coma release nine studio albums, beginning with Pierwsze wyjście z mroku (2004) and followed by critical successes such as Zaprzepaszczone siły wielkiej armii świętych znaków (2006), Hipertrofia (2008), Excess (2010), the self‑titled Czerwony album (2011), Don’t Set Your Dogs on Me (2013), 2005 YU55 (2016), Metal Ballads vol. 1 (2017) and Sen o 7 szklankach (2019). Parallel to his band work he launched a solo career, issuing Loki – Wizja Dźwięku (2011) and 95–2003' (2012) on Mystic Production, albums noted for their introspective lyrics and experimental arrangements. As a member of the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry, he has been instrumental in shaping industry standards and advocating for artists’ rights. Beyond music, Rogucki has cultivated a respected acting career, appearing on the stage of TR Warszawa and taking roles in several Polish films and television series, where his dramatic training enhances his on‑screen performances. His dual talents have earned him a reputation as a versatile cultural figure, continually expanding his artistic impact across Poland and beyond.
