Olivia DeJonge

Olivia DeJonge (born 30 April 1998) is an Australian actress who has quickly become a recognizable face in both television and film, celebrated for her chameleonic ability to inhabit diverse characters across genres. Born in Melbourne, Victoria, she is the elder of two children of Robyn (née Gradisen) and Rob DeJonge, who work as investors in property and IT, and she spent her early childhood in the historic Rochester Terrace townhouse in Albert Park before moving to Perth at age five where she attended Presbyterian Ladies' College in Peppermint Grove. Her first foray into professional work came at eight years old when she recorded a radio voice‑over for a well‑known hardware chain, a gig that opened the door to numerous advertising spots and gave her early experience in performance. DeJonge’s breakthrough on screen arrived in 2010 when she won Best Actress at the 24th Western Australian Screen Awards for her lead in the short film Good Pretender, and she followed this with a feature debut in The Sisterhood of Night (2015). She gained national attention starring as Tara Swift/Shaneen Quigg in the ABC1 drama Hiding (2015) and as Becca in M. Night Shyamalan’s horror film The Visit (2015), showcasing her talent for both dramatic and suspenseful roles. Subsequent projects such as the Netflix series The Society (2019) and the TNT series Will (2017) expanded her television credentials, while her portrayal of Priscilla Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic Elvis earned critical acclaim and secured her the AACTA Award for Best Supporting Actress. Critics praised her nuanced performance for capturing Presley’s vulnerability and strength, and the role cemented DeJonge’s status as a rising star in international cinema. Though she now divides her time between Melbourne and on‑location shoots, she remains grounded, maintaining a low‑key personal life and continuing to seek challenging roles that push her artistic boundaries.
