Oliver Chris (Oliver Graham Chris, born 7 November 1978) is a versatile English actor whose career spans television, film, and stage, earning him recognition for both comedic timing and dramatic depth. Raised in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, he excelled academically, passing the eleven‑plus exam and attending Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys before moving to the Michael Hall Steiner School, experiences that cultivated a disciplined work ethic later reflected in his craft. After graduating from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Chris briefly pursued an evening class at Birkbeck College, eventually enrolling in a degree program covering history, politics, and philosophy, a testament to his intellectual curiosity beyond performance.

Chris first gained prominence through a series of memorable comedy roles, appearing in cult favourites such as The Office, Green Wing, Nathan Barley, The IT Crowd, and Bluestone 42, where his portrayal of a bomb‑disposal officer combined slapstick humor with poignant humanity. His musical side emerged in 2004 when he rewrote the Beatles’ “Let It Be” into a tribute to footballer Wayne Rooney, a viral YouTube hit that showcased his willingness to blend pop culture with performance art.
