Nimrat Kaur, born on 13 March 1982 in Pilani, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India, is a distinguished Indian actress who has left an indelible mark on both Hindi cinema and international television. Raised in a Sikh family, she endured the tragic loss of her father, Major Bhupender Singh, a Shaurya Chakra awardee, when he was abducted in 1994, an event that prompted her family's move to Noida where she completed her schooling at Delhi Public School before earning a B.Com. (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce. After graduating, Kaur migrated to Mumbai and began her career as a print model, soon transitioning to theatre with acclaimed productions such as Baghdad Wedding, All About Women, and Red Sparrow, honing her craft under directors Sunil Shanbag and Manav Kaul.
