Mel Lisboa

Mel Lisboa Alves, known professionally as Mel Lisboa, is a Brazilian actress celebrated for her early breakthrough in the 2001 miniseries Presença de Anita. Born on 17 January 1982 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, she is the daughter of astrologer Cláudia Lisboa Alves and musician Bebeto Alves, and grew up surrounded by artistic influences that would later shape her career. After initially enrolling in cinema studies at Fluminense Federal University in Niterói, she abandoned the program to pursue acting, quickly gaining national attention for her portrayal of the enigmatic Anita, a role that combined sensuality and mystery and earned the miniseries an impressive 30 IBOPE points on TV Globo. The success of that performance led to a high‑profile sensual essay for the Paparazzo website and cemented her status as a rising star, although it also typecast her in sexually charged parts. In 2002 she joined the soap opera Desejos de Mulher as Gabriela, a young woman from the interior dreaming of a modeling career, a project that proved less popular but gave her valuable experience and personal growth as she learned to navigate audience expectations. Over the next few years, Lisboa diversified her portfolio: she appeared in a second sensual essay for Trip magazine, posed for the 29th anniversary edition of Brazilian Playboy in 2004, and returned to Rede Globo in the telenovela Como uma Onda as the spoiled Lenita Paiva. Expanding beyond acting, she became a television presenter on GNT/Sat TV Globo in 2007 and published the memoir Mundo Afora – Diário de Bordo de Mel Lisboa, blending personal anecdotes with photographs from her program. Subsequent roles include Carla in Sete Pecados, the female lead in Record TV’s Sansão e Dalila, and a stage portrayal of Rita Lee in the musical Rita Lee Mora ao Lado. In 2015 she played Henutmire in Os Dez Mandamentos, reaffirming her versatility across television, theater, and literary endeavors, while maintaining a public presence through interviews and social media.
