Maximilian Paul Diarmuid Irons, an English and Irish actor, and model, born on 17 October 1985, is well known for his roles in films such as 'Red Riding Hood' (2011), 'The White Queen' (2013), 'The Host' (2013), 'Woman in Gold' (2014), 'The Riot Club' (2014), 'Bitter Harvest' (2017), and 'The Wife' (2018). He has also achieved recognition for his role in the spy thriller series 'Condor' (2018–2020). Born in the Camden borough of London, he is the son of Irish actress Sinéad Cusack and English actor Jeremy Irons. His family has deep roots in the theatre, stood as grandsons of actors Cyril Cusack and Maureen Cusack. Irons also has connections to the political world through his half-brother, politician Richard Boyd Barrett.
Irons' early education took place at the Dragon School in Oxford, and Bryanston School in Dorset, followed by higher studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Despite suffering from dyslexia and struggling in school, he managed to graduate in 2008. Irons' career began with roles in Catherine Hardwicke's 'Red Riding Hood', Stephenie Meyer's science fiction novel adaptation 'The Host', and leading role in the television series 'The White Queen'. He later starred in the ITV miniseries 'Tutankhamun' and played Joe Turner in a TV series inspired by the movie 'Three Days of the Condor'. Apart from acting, Irons has also made a mark in the modelling industry, modelling for companies including Burberry and Mango.
