Marc Evan Jackson, born August 21, 1970, is a notable American comedian and actor. Hailing from Buffalo, New York, Jackson has distinguished himself through his wide-ranging roles in various forms of media, from television series to podcasts. Notable parts he's played include Sparks Nevada in the Thrilling Adventure Hour, Kevin Cozner in Brooklyn Nine-Nine (for which he also hosts a podcast), Trevor Nelsson in Parks and Recreation, and Shawn in The Good Place. His talent is not restricted to live-action roles either; he's voiced characters such as Bradford Buzzard in the Disney series DuckTales. Born in Buffalo, New York in 1970, he grew up in nearby Amherst alongside two siblings. A graduate of Amherst Central High School and Calvin College, Marc pursued a major in philosophy and minors in political science and environmental studies. He also gained theatre experience during his college years.
Following college, he spent several years working offshore. Concurrently, he produced and hosted for a National Public Radio affiliate, begining his improvisation and acting career with River City Improv, associated with Calvin University. He later joined The Second City Detroit, and moved to Los Angeles in 2001. Here, he integrated himself fully into the improv scene, joining an improv group known as The 313 in 2003. He also appeared in TVs and movies alike, making appearances on Last Comic Standing, Last Call with Carson Daly, Modern Family, Black-ish and others. Despite his numerous appearances on-screen, he's also made significant strides in voice acting, with roles in works like President Wolfman, Adventures in Odyssey and Brick Novax's Diary. Off-screen, he's known for his charity work, co-establishing the Detroit Creativity Project.
