Louis Garrel

Louis Garrel, a French actor and filmmaker, was born on 14 June 1983 in Paris, France. He rose to prominence for his stellar role in The Dreamers, directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. Over the years, Garrel has shown remarkable versatility, featuring regularly in films by French director Christophe Honoré including Ma Mère, Dans Paris, Love Songs, The Beautiful Person, and Making Plans for Lena. In addition to acting, he directed several feature films, such as Les Deux Amis and A Faithful Man. Born to director Philippe Garrel and actress Brigitte Sy, he bears the legacy of his grandfather, Maurice Garrel, a notable French actor. His acting career began as a child, making his screen debut at the age of six in the film Les Baisers de secours. His big break came in 2002 when he played the twin brother of Eva Green in The Dreamers. His performance in Les Amants réguliers earned him the César Award for Most Promising Actor. Besides acting, he ventured into direction, creating short films like Mes copains and Petit Tailleur. His directional debut Two Friends was released in 2015, where he starred alongside Golshifteh Farahani, Vincent Macaigne.
