Elizabeth Shaila Koshy, fondly known as Liza Koshy, born on March 31, 1996, is a dynamic American YouTuber, media personality, and actress. She's well-regarded for her engaging YouTube channels which boast almost 17 million subscribers, with her two channels receiving a combined total of over 3 billion views. Beginning her career on Vine in 2013, Koshy quickly ventured into YouTube, amassing a substantial online presence. Her adventures in acting started with a role in Tyler Perry's horror comedy film Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016), soon after which she starred in the Hulu horror drama series Freakish (2016–2017) and the YouTube Premium mystery series Escape the Night (2017–2019). Koshy wears many hats, having co-created, produced, and starred in the YouTube Premium comedy series Liza on Demand (2018–2021). Her talent and versatility earned her a spot on the 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 Hollywood & Entertainment list and the Time 2019 list of the 25 Most Influential People on the Internet.

Koshy was born in Houston, Texas to Jean Carol (née Hertzler), an American yoga instructor of German descent, and Jose Koshy, an Indian Malayali petroleum executive from Kerala. After initially studying business marketing at the University of Houston, she made the bold decision to chase a media career in Los Angeles in 2015. On social media, Koshy created waves and earned fame for her comedic videos on the Vine platform under the pseudonym 'Lizzza'. As of 2021, her impressive YouTube presence includes over 17 million subscribers on her main channel and over 8 million subscribers on her second channel. Despite facing criticism in 2020 for insensitive videos, Koshy continues to hold an influential spot in digital media. An actor of repute, Koshy is known for her roles in Freakish, Boo!
