Kristofer Hivju

Kristofer Hivju is a well-recognised Norwegian actor, notable for his role in the immensely popular HBO fantasy series, 'Game of Thrones'. He played the character Tormund Giantsbane, an essential component of the Game of Thrones world. Not just limited to TV series, he's also appeared in key movies like The Fate of the Furious where he played Connor Rhodes, contributing to the diversity of his acting portfolio. Hivju, born and raised in Oslo, Norway, exhibited a penchant for acting from an early age. Reflecting on his academic life, Hivju polished his acting skills at the Danish division of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Aarhus graduating in 2004. His career trajectory projected an upward growth as he landed numerous roles in TV series such as Fox Grønland and Seks som oss as well as the 2008 film Manhunt. He has also been actively involved in theatre and scriptwriting.

In 2013-2019, he starred in 'Game of Thrones', which thrust him into global stardom. Apart from HBO's fantasy epic, he was also part of M. Night Shyamalan's science fiction film 'After Earth'. One unique aspect about Hivju's career is that he happens to be the only actor to appear in both the original film 'Force Majeure' (2014) and its remake 'Downhill' (2020). By 2023, he ventured into a different avenue as he started appearing in a series of commercials for Scotts brand products. Beyond his professional life, Hivju is deeply invested in disc golf. He's known to be an active player and community enforcer. In a testament to his love for the sport, Innova Champion Discs released Hivju's own signature roc, a mid-range disc golf disc, in 2022.
