What's After the Movie
Katrina Grey, born Katarina Greguskova on January 11, 1991 in Ilava, then part of Czechoslovakia, is a multifaceted Slovak talent who has built a career as an actress, screenwriter, and director across several continents. From a young age she was immersed in the performing arts, attending ZUS drama school where she practiced dance, vocal training, accordion, and theatre, later earning a scholarship from the Rotary Club International to study abroad in Mexico at Colegio de Chihuahua, where she won the prize for Best Performance in the Spanish production of the musical Cats. Her academic path continued at Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic, where she obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in International Development Studies, while mastering five languages – Slovak, Czech, English, Spanish, French and an advanced proficiency in Russian – and becoming a certified scuba diver with a passion for adrenaline sports, writing, and music.
Grey’s professional debut came in 2013 when she was photographed for Honolulu Street Pulse’s magazine, which led to a series of TV commercials and on‑screen action training. She first appeared on film in the short Return of the Golden Lily, which earned an Experienced Vision Award at the Thailand International Film Destination Festival 2014. Subsequent roles included a supporting part in the psychological drama All I See Is You, a starring role in the horror feature Ghost House, and her breakout as Kay Sutherland in Hard Target 2 (2016) opposite Scott Adkins and Robert Knepper. She further expanded her international presence with the French comedy Brice 3, working alongside Oscar‑winner Jean Dujardin, and appeared in indie projects such as Locked Up and Milk. In recent years Grey has turned her creativity to writing, penning the thriller Daytime Nightmare and the horror Hostel Paradise while continuing to act, most notably in the Malaysian zombie horror Infeksi Zombie‑ Belaban Hidup. A member of both Equity and Spotlight, she remains an active figure in the global independent film scene.
