Margaret June Blair, known professionally as June Blair, was born on October 20, 1932, in San Francisco, California, and established herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry during the 1950s and 1960s. She first gained national attention as a model, most notably when she was selected as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for the January 1957 issue, an appearance that significantly boosted her visibility and opened doors to an acting career. This union led to her most recognizable television role, playing herself (credited simply as "June") on the long-running family sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet from 1961 to 1966, where she essentially portrayed David Nelson's wife on screen while being his actual spouse in real life. Prior to her marriage to Nelson, Blair had been engaged to singer Nino Tempo in 1957, and subsequently dated Lindsay Crosby, son of the legendary Bing Crosby, before breaking off those relationships to marry Nelson. Her marriage to David Nelson produced two sons, born in 1962 and 1966, though the couple eventually divorced in 1975 after fourteen years together. Beyond her iconic sitcom role, Blair continued to make guest appearances on numerous television westerns and crime dramas throughout the early 1960s, including Bat Masterson, Hawaiian Eye, Sea Hunt, M Squad, The Texan, and Tombstone Territory, demonstrating her considerable range across the golden age of television.
