He first entered competitive motorsport through Legend Cars at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway while juggling college studies at Volunteer State Community College and a part‑time job as a bank teller, a humble beginning that forged his work ethic and passion for racing. In 2008 Berry caught the attention of future NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. while competing in the DMP Online Racing simulation league, a connection that led to his signing with JR Motorsports in 2010 and a successful stint in late‑model stock cars where he became the all‑time winningest driver in CARS Tour history.
