Jessie Thezeire Usher Jr., known as Jessie T. Usher is an American actor with a career spanning from 2005 to the present. Usher gained recognition for his roles as Lyle on Level Up, Cam Calloway on Survivor's Remorse, and Reggie Franklin / A-Train in The Boys. Apart from television, he has made a mark in the film industry, appearing in When the Game Stands Tall (2014), Teenage (2013), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), Shaft (2019), and Smile (2022). Usher was born on February 29, 1992, in Silver Spring, Maryland to parents Jessie T. and Judith Usher. He showed an early interest in acting, catalyzed by his sister's participation in a TV commercial when he was five. His first acting job was an Oscar Mayer commercial and in 2003, Usher's family relocated to Los Angeles to advance his acting career.
Usher graduated from high school at fifteen, joined Alpha Gamma Sigma, and studied culinary arts in community college. His professional acting career took off with a role in CBS's Without a Trace in 2005, followed by the Disney Channel original, Hannah Montana in 2007, and the Cartoon Network movie Level Up in 2011. In March 2014, Usher landed a lead role in Survivor's Remorse, executive produced by NBA player LeBron James. Usher stole the limelight in Independence Day: Resurgence and secured a role opposite Danny Glover and Kimberly Elise in Almost Christmas. In 2019, Usher featured in the sequel to the 1971 film Shaft. His notable role in the Amazon Studios series, The Boys, was announced in 2018. He also starred alongside Camila Mendes in Netflix's Dangerous Lies in 2020 and in the psychological horror film Smile in September 2022.
