James Gaylyn

James Gaylyn, born on January 9, 1954, is an American actor and musician who is mainly based in New Zealand. He is prominently known for his roles in the Power Rangers franchise, an American adaptation of Super Sentai. In 1981, Gaylyn relocated to New Zealand with his wife who was born there. Apart from acting, he is also a blues singer and drummer and he has released albums and toured both New Zealand and Australia. One of his notable musical contributions include playing drums on the OMC track 'How Bizarre,' which turned out to be an international hit. Gaylyn's acting career is marked by several onscreen and voice-over roles. In Power Rangers RPM, he had a starring role as Col. Mason Truman. He also had numerous roles after the show's production was shifted to Auckland. His work reached international audiences with his roles in films and series such as the globally acclaimed movie 'Avatar' and the Netflix series 'Cowboy Bebop.' Today, Gaylyn lives in the North Shore of Auckland with his son, Elijah, who is aspiring to be a rapper.
