Gabriel Chavarria, an American actor, was born on April 29, 1989. He is best known for his role as Jacob Aguilar in Hulu's East Los High. In addition, he was also the lead actor during Season One of USA Network's The Purge. Chavarria's acting career began in 2007 when he made his film debut in Freedom Writers. The film was directed by Richard LaGravenese and was released on January 5, 2007. Later, in 2013, Chavarria featured in the Hulu series East Los High, lending his charismatic performance to Jacob Aguilar. His portfolio also includes his significant role in the 2016 drama film Lowriders where he portrayed a character named Danny. He added diversity to his roles by taking on the character of a human soldier, Preacher, in the film* War for the Planet of the Apes*, and the challenging role of a deep-submergence rescue vehicle pilot aboard the American submarine USS Arkansas in Hunter Killer. By 2018, he had scored a lead role in the TV series The Purge. Most recently in 2020, he was one of the main characters in the Netflix Original Series, Selena: The Series, playing A.B. Quintanilla, Selena's older brother, bass player, and songwriter/producer.
