Ewald Wenck

Ewald Wenck was a remarkably prolific German character actor whose career spanned nearly six decades of German film and television history. Born on December 28, 1891, in Berlin during the German Empire era, Wenck began his acting career in 1919, coinciding with the dawn of the Weimar Republic and the golden age of German silent cinema. Over the course of his extensive career, which lasted until 1978, he appeared in more than 230 films and television productions, establishing himself as one of the most hardworking and versatile supporting actors in the German entertainment industry. His post-war work included significant roles in Somewhere in Berlin (1946), one of the first rubble films dealing with the immediate aftermath of the war, and the comedy Pension Schöller (1952).
